NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Convention Center Authority announced the appointment of a new member, Randy Goodman.  Goodman was appointed by Mayor Karl Dean and confirmed by Metro Council last night.

Goodman is a 30-year veteran of the Nashville music industry. He began his career in 1981 with RCA Records as a publicist and over the next 16 years rose to EVP/GM of the RCA Label Group. Goodman left the RCA Label Group in 1997 for the Walt Disney Company and launched Lyric Street Records. Currently Goodman is a manager with Maverick (formerly Spalding Entertainment) working with his former Lyric label act, Rascal Flatts, and a new artist, Seth Alley. Goodman has co-chaired Mayor Dean's Music City Music Council for the past 3 years while serving as a consultant for various Nashville-based entertainment businesses. Goodman is also a former CMA Board Chairman and a current board member for the Country Music Hall of Fame.

"We are very excited to have Randy join the Convention Center Authority," said Charles Starks, President/CEO of the Music City Center. "His commitment to the music industry and the city of Nashville is unparalleled and we very much look forward to having him on board as we begin a busy 2015."
