Set Up Staff
[ Full Time ]

Responsibilities include:  set-up/dismantling of convention space; general maintenance labor in connection to building maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, washing walls and windows, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash containers, etc. This includes considerable physical activity in transporting awkward and heavy materials such as staging, tables, chairs, dance floors, etc., from storage areas to meeting rooms. Ability to understand conversion task, project sheets and event documents on a daily basis to ensure that all requirements are clear and the expectation of the set up is understood before work begins. Assist in direction of temporary labor and able to work independently when needed. Able to work irregular hours to include overnight shifts, weekends and holidays.  Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

High School Diploma or GED preferred plus one (1) to three (3) years of semi-skilled laboring experience is required.  Knowledge of the techniques and procedures used in setting public events; ability to operate motorized equipment, such as a forklift; and ability to analyze set-up plans and make modifications. 

Flexible schedule and ability to work weekends required.  This is a position of the Convention Center Authority; not a Metropolitan Government position. Salary:  $13.00/hour.  Excellent Benefits included.

Housekeeping

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of all public and back of house areas including offices, public space, terraces, building exterior perimeter, which includes sweeping, mopping, washing walls and windows, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash containers, etc.  Must be able to work without direct supervision and act as lead in the absence of supervisor.  Must be familiar with housekeeping equipment including floor buffers and carpet cleaners. 

High School Diploma or GED preferred with 6 months to 1 year of experience in cleaning commercial buildings or any combination of education and experience meeting these requirements. 

This is a position of the Convention Center Authority; not a Metropolitan Government position.   Starting Salary $12.00/hr with excellent benefits.  Position must be available to work all shifts and for weekend work as well.

Hospitality Quick Server

Under the direction of the Hospitality Quick Serve Manager, this position is responsible for providing fast and efficient service to customers. The Hospitality Quick Server will serve a variety of pre-made or made fresh-to-order snacks, beverages and entrée items from Centerplate’s Quick Serve menu. Style of service may be either grab-and-go, restaurant-style or in-seat service format. This position is only during scheduled events. Weekly hours ranging from 0 -- 30 hours.

Responsibilities: Perform duties according to procedure for opening and closing Quick Serve locations at start and close of business. Follow all uniform grooming standards and apply consistent focus on customer service by acknowledging each quest who enters service areas. The Hospitality Quick server must participate in and foster positive team relations with wait staff, fellow cashiers, and management staff.

Requirements: High School Diploma or the equivalent with one (1) year of customer service experience. TIPS or TEAM trained or equivalent; and of age to serve alcoholic beverages, based on state requirements. Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively implement written and verbal instructions along with a strong team orientation and ability to work with a variety of departments to accomplish assigned tasks. Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations, to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, utilize a calculator, change counters, and manually count with accuracy. Other requirements include but are not limited to: Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment; Hours are often extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.

Starting Salary: $11.00/hr.

Sous Chef III

Under the direction of Culinary Management, the Sous Chef III role is a position of administrative authority for Music City Center Food & Beverage division, by which responsibility and accountability are necessary to direct the food production and presentation to the customers and staff as directed by the Executive Chef. As our singular goal is to be #1 in Event Hospitality, all of our managers, chefs and team members are "Hospitality Ambassadors."


Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of full service, medium to high volume restaurant kitchen supervisory experience. Knowledge of the responsibilities associated with various positions within a food preparation environment and knowledge of monthly inventories and food cost; ability to understand written and oral direction and communicate, and last but not least, the ability to participate and promote a team environment.


Starting Salary: $15.00/hr

Cook III

Under the direction of Culinary Management, the Cook III position performs as an entry level culinarian among its peer cook positions. The Cook III will assume prep, grill or line responsibilities within the kitchen that require less detail and creativity and will perform responsibilities for food preparation that require less experience and expertise than Cook I and Cook II.

The Cook III will contribute to Centerplate’s operational and financial success by following all Centerplate culinary standards for sanitation and preparation to ensure that food product is of the highest quality in taste and appearance, to satisfy guest expectations and to maximize food revenues.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in food preparation in a fast paced environment. Must be able to interact verbally and listen attentively to co-workers and supervisors; ability to follow written and oral direction, work under pressure, and work independently. Culinary degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Starting Salary:  $11.00
