Water Conservation
Music City Center implements a comprehensive water management plan. All toilets, urinals and faucets utilize low flow technology and are equipped with sensor technology to reduce overall water usage. Rain water and condensate from HVAC equipment is collected in a 360,000 gallon underground cistern, which provides water to over 500 toilets/urinals and irrigates outdoor landscaping and reduces our need for city-supplied water. We also integrate climate appropriate and native landscaping to reduce the amount of water used for irrigation. Flow meters and moisture sensors are placed in the root zones of plantings to ensure efficient and uniform watering. These water conservation features are capable of reducing the facility’s overall water usage by almost half.
