Council Funds Convention Center Planning
Work includes layout for hall, hotel and parking garages on 15-acre site
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 6, 2008) Planning for a proposed new downtown convention center will get under way now that money for architectural designs and other preliminary work has been approved. The Metro Council agreed unanimously Tuesday to fund 18 to 24 months of "predevelopment activities" for the $595 million building, as well as a related hotel and two 1,000-car parking garages.
