NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Convention Center Authority announced this morning that the Music City Center has generated $169 million in economic impact during the first half of fiscal year 2016, which is almost double the economic impact generated during the first half of fiscal year 2015.

Fiscal year to date the building has hosted 150 events with 290,215 attendees, generating $169 million in economic impact. Tax collections continue to outperform expectations and the Music City Center portion of tax collections was up 15 percent year over year for October.

"Even with some down time over the holidays, this fiscal year continues to be record-breaking for us in many ways" said Charles Starks, President/CEO of the Music City Center. "Not only are our economic impact and attendance numbers up, but our sales team is also having a great year. At the half year mark, building rental and food and beverage sales were tracking to greatly exceed fiscal year projections."
